Scope of Work: Commercial Improvement Contracting (Abbr: CIC) means that service which provides for repair or improvement to structures not defined as dwellings and townhouses in the USBC. The CBC classification also provides for this function. The CIC classification does not provide for the construction of new buildings, accessory buildings, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or gas work.

CIC includes the following specialties and they are not required to be listed separately on your contractor license.

▪ Painting and Wallcovering Contracting (PTC)
▪ Roofing Contracting (ROC)
